Role Objective

JOB CONTENT

To manage, coordinate and execute the tasks/activities under Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) Department of PODC; provide and maintain safe and secure working environment in the site and ensure compliance with national and international standards at all times; continuously monitor HSS procedures followed by employees, visitors and customers and take necessary actions to ensure that the safety procedures are practiced throughout project sites.

2. Duties and Responsibilities

Operational:

• Assist in planning HSSE tasks, activities and targets with HSSE Asst. Manager and other team members and stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development of procedures to ensure that contractors, suppliers and consultants directly/indirectly working with PODC comply with relevant HSSE standards.
• Assist with checking and reviewing of contractor’s submitted documents for HSS compliance.
• Conducts scheduled and unscheduled safety and security inspections of the work site facilities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
• Observes work in progress, ensures maintaining secure working environment, that proper safety equipment is worn and safety & security procedures are followed.
• Notifies and report to management regarding violations of safety and security regulations.
• Makes recommendations for corrections and follows-up to ensure that violations have been corrected.
• Develop risk assessments and analyse hazards to minimize risk to the employees, visitors or contractors.
• Investigate safety and health complaints submitted by management, employees, visitors, contractors, government authorities…etc.
• Ensure that all incidents are investigated, root cause is analyzed and necessary steps are taken to prevent a similar recurrence in future.
• Evaluates concerns and alternatives, resolve complaints and makes recommendations to management for corrective action, as required.

Special Skills & Knowledge:

– Good knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems.

– Knowledge of Environmental Discharges

– Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Hazards/OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational & Safety hazards.

Commercial Support Officer

To support the commercial department by playing a proactive role in its smooth operation by performing a range of routine and non-routine tasks; generating reports; general administration and office management tasks; managing invoices and payments; supporting a diverse group of stakeholders with special focus on after sales client support; and playing the supportive link between the commercial, finance, and operations department.

2. Duties and Responsibilities

Operational:

• Act as a key point of contact and perform after sales client support.
• Coordinate between marketing and operations department as and when required to provide high level of customer service.
• Maintain smooth running and efficient office operations in the commercial department.
• Collect and keep track of operating costs from operations department.
• Compile and translate feedback from marketing and operations department in order to accurately prepare invoices.
• Manage invoices and payments; raising invoices to customers; following up on payments; and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Prepare monthly reports relevant to the cargo traffic through the port.
• Provide administrative support to the department by scheduling meetings, scheduling conference calls, preparing the necessary documents for meetings, and recording the minutes of meeting (MoM).
• Perform the management of general enquirers.

• Liaising with other internal departments and networks as required by the Senior Commercial Manager.
• Complete any reasonable tasks assigned from time to time by the Senior Commercial Manager.
• TOS: Mastering IFS and TOS linking Operation and Finance linking with Commercial.

People Development:

• Embrace and drive continuous Human Capital improvements through business driven initiatives or as directed by Port of Duqm Human Resources Department.
• Complete the necessary tasks as requested by Management/Directors on people development areas.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

– Bachelor’s degree in marketing, commercial, management or maritime related studies, or as per the Minimum Qualifications and Experiences matrix in PODC.

– 0-2 years of similar experience in Marketing, commercial, management or maritime related studies or as per the Minimum Qualifications and Experiences matrix in PODC
