Qatar Energy’s partnership with China is solid. Shared commitments for a sustainable future

His Excellency Mr. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President and CEO of QatarEnergy, praised the State of Qatar’s and the People’s Republic of China’s growing energy relationship, emphasizing the significance of recently signed North Field expansion project partnerships and LNG sales agreements.

H.E. Minister Al-Kaabi, in a keynote speech at the Sinopec Forum in Shanghai, emphasized the strong fundamentals of Asia’s energy demand growth, which is primarily driven by China’s economic growth, and stated: “The State of Qatar has firmly supported the role of natural gas as a central component of any energy mix on the road to a realistic energy transition.” Qatar Energy is offering the world the cleanest hydrocarbon energy source, with both economic and environmental benefits to enable long-term prosperity and a better future. In reality, Qatar will supply almost 40% of all additional LNG supplies by 2029.

As a result, we believe that a stronger link between the world’s greatest LNG producer and the world’s largest energy consumer is a natural progression of the realities creating today’s energy map.”

His Excellency the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President and CEO of QatarEnergy, emphasized QatarEnergy’s commitment to conserving our world and our existence. “We believe that energy transition is one of the most pressing challenges of our time,” he stated. It is not only about the environment, but also about the future of energy, which influences the lives of every person on the earth and crosses borders, economics, and cultures. It is about making a feasible and practical shift to cleaner options to power our economies while balancing energy security, affordability, and sustainability.

“Transitioning to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future cannot be accomplished in isolation.” It necessitates open cooperation among governments, industry, and stakeholders in pursuit of a common goal,” His Excellency remarked.

The Sinopec Forum, held on the sidelines of the China International Import Expo, was organized and hosted by China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec), with Dr. Ma Yongsheng, Chairman of Sinopec Group and Chairman of Sinopec Corp., and senior Chinese and international energy executives in attendance.
